More than 15 pages...?

I feel like I have a lot of material and information, and I feel like my papaer will definitely end up being more than 15 pages.  On the requirements it says 12-15 pages, but I really don't want to cut out any of my research because I feel like it all fits toghether nicely.  Would we get marked down for having a paper over 15 pages??  I find it hard to cut stuff out, and really I don't want to cut out material that I worked hard to get haha.

  1. I asked this in class once. You MIGHT be ok on the rough draft, but you definitely need to keep your final paper within the guidelines or you will get marked down.

  2. Sean's right. You'll need to cut down the final version to 15 pages (which I understand is annoying, but part of the challenge is to fit your argument within the maximum number of pages. If you are over a paragraph or two it's not a big deal, but you definitely don't want to be pages over.

If you bring a full version of what you have, I can give some suggestions about how to cut down the final version.

  3. I agree. It is hard to eliminate some of the information that you spent so much time researching and that is so interesting to you. I am going to have to cut out parts of my paper too to make it shorter. I am going to go through it and decide on what is very relevant versus only somewhat relevant.
